I originally wrote the journal with pictures interspersed in the text, and the stilted cadence makes more sense that way, I think? But also I know my handwriting is just not readable. So I’m going to be posting it two ways, as an edited transcribed version, and as straight-up scans.

Also, I know the art’s bad. It gets a little bit better past the first day but it never gets good. I’m not doing this to show off my art skills or anything. This whole project is kind of a roleplaying exercise but also me wanting to experience and explore the lore of the game with absolutely fresh eyes. I’ve always thought that the lore and story of these games are meant to be interpreted anew by every player and that many parts of the game are deliberately ambiguous. So I’m putting my money where my mouth is and doing the exercise myself. I’m putting it all online because I have friends who would get a kick out of it. Anyway. Scans!
